The Battlecruiser Engine was one of two large and very complex engines featured in our lunar crashsight set for Transformers Three: Darkside of the Moon. Working with production designer Nigel Phelps, art directors Ben Proctor, Kevin Ishioka and Josh Nizzi, I helped advance and refine the engines' many components using Rhino and testing out material finishes in Keyshot.
In this image I explored solutions for the Emerald City Throne Room . The solution utilizes a domed, centralized space that incorporates inconography developed in other areas of the Emerald City. I developed the forms in Rhino and Zbrush and rendered in keyshot.
In this image, I explored design concepts for a gun turret mounted to the fuselage of our crashed Autobot Battlecruiser. I built a Rhino massing model and added a texture overlay and lighting in photoshop
In this render, I explored production designer, Darren Guillford's ideas of light and material. I refined a working model in rhino and rendered in keyshot and photoshop to illustrate our lighting solution. Light played a large role in the film's minimalist visual style.
